Today Apple announced a developer preview of its next desktop operating system OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, and expects the retailer version will available on this summer through the Mac App Store, and the costing is unchanged from the previous Lion as $29.99.
Features of OS X Mountain Lion
Seems like so much of improvements from existing Leopard, and brings some iOS stuffs as well to blend it across other Apple devices. Actually the pretty thing is Mac seems closer to iPhone and iPad user interface to handing out contents between them.
iMessage
Since it’ll be instead of iChat in Mountain Lion that makes ability of access every activated Apple user, also can use it file sharing, Facetime for easy video chatting and more like on iOS.
Notification Center
Notification Center is already in iOS that represents the notification of new tweets, emails, messages, reminder, apps, incoming devices and more, now it’s on OS X Mountain Lion. Its auto hidden at right side of the home, can access through a two-finger gesture on the Mac’s clickpad or dedicated buttons. Initially it’ll works with Apple Apps only but through API developers can use it ASAP.
Reminders
Reminders is already in part of OS X it was previously combined into calendar, with its simple interface can take some short notes of reminders.
Notes
In previous Notes been migrated into mail app has been bit hard to navigate it, now its offers ability to add pictures inside your notes and pin it to home screen as sticky.
Game Center
Yes, finally Game Center is in OS X, obviously Gaming is the ever favor feature in Apple devices. Now it’s in Mac, it has a pretty cool thing on Gaming that Mac vs. iPhone, iPad, iPod touch. So iOS games are on the way to OS X Mountain Lion.
iCloud
iCloud is already spotted in OS X, but now gets more deep integration into the iOS, it’s initially set up screen in Mac represent that your docs in the Cloud to share across iOS devices through your Apple ID.
Safari
Safari now has a popular Chinese input for the popular Chinese search engine Baidu, along with available of Tudou and Youk video upload in China. And unified URL/Search bar, to quick jump to specific apps Launchpad is dedicated.
